Tinubu swears in new Head of Service as Yemi-Esan bows out tomorrow

President Bola Tinubu has sworn Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack in as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The brief ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the State House before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting.

The new HoS appointment was approved by President Tinubu last month following the expected retirement of incumbent Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who is due to retire on August 13, 2024.

Mrs. Walson-Jack was appointed as Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served in several Ministries.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC)meeting at the State House, Abuja.

Today’s meeting comes a week after he stepped down the FEC meeting to preside over an emergency National Security Council meeting.

The security council meeting, attended by the service chiefs and other heads of security, law enforcement and intelligence agencies, followed the escalation of the #EndBadGovernance protest into a riots and different sorts of criminal activities, leading to deaths and destruction of public and private property.
