Niger gov expands ministries from 25 to 40
The Niger State Governor, Mallam Mohammed Bago, has directed the immediate expansion of the ministries in the state from 25 to 40.
The governor also reshuffled permanent secretaries, while he appointed new ones to man the newly-established ministries.
These were contained in a memo dated July 17 from the office of the Niger State Head of Service, obtained by The PUNCH on Tuesday.
Some of the new ministries include are Ministry of Works and infrastructural Development; Ministry of Home Land Security, Economic Affairs, SSG’s Office; Human Resource Development and Political Affairs, SSG’s Office; Political Affairs SSG’s Office.
They also include Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment; Ministry of Rural Development; Ministry of Information and Strategy; Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries; Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management; and Ministry of Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare, among others.
The memo, which was signed by Head of Service, Abubakar Salisu, read in part: “ I write to inform you that the Executive Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the posting of permanent secretaries as contained in the attached list.
“The affected permanent secretaries are expected to complete handing and taking over formalities within one week from the date of this posting.”
