Ban on your activities beyond 9pm still in force – Kwara CP reminds Okada, tricycle operators
The new Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, has reminded commercial okada and tricycle operators in the state that the ban on their operational hours fixed between 9pm and 6am remains in force throughout the state.
Speaking after a meeting with the associations of both groups at the police headquarters in Ilorin, the police commissioner reminded the unions of the existing law promulgated by the state government to streamline their operations at the said time.
She also reinstated her commitment to enforcing the laws to the letter and advised the union leaders to warn members of the command’s readiness to start enforcing the laws and prosecuting any member caught violating them.
A statement by the spokesman of the command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin on Saturday evening, said Ebunoluwarotimi, further warned criminal elements in the state to change their evil ways or risk grave consequences.
She advised law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of intimidation from criminals or law enforcement agencies.
The police commissioner said no stone would be left unturned to ensure crimes and criminality become things of the past in Kwara State, as it is not going to be business as usual for lawbreakers in the state.
