Direct entry registration resumes after UTME, census – JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an extension of registration deadline for candidates seeking Direct Entry (DE) admission into universities.
A statement yesterday by the Head of Public Affairs/Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, said the Board is postponing the continuation of DE registrations which was earlier scheduled to close on April 20, but was extended by one week.
According to the statement, the registration would now continue on May 6 when the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and national census would have ended.
The board directed aspiring candidates to obtain their DE ePINs from designated vending outlets on or before April 20, when ePIN vending would be closed.
The statement reads: “This development is to accommodate the conduct of the Board’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) billed to hold from April 25 to May 3, while the National Census is scheduled to start on May 3 and end May 5.
“Candidates desiring to register for the DE exercise are therefore directed to obtain their DE ePINs from designated vending outlets on or before April 30 when ePIN vending would be closed. Candidates are then expected to proceed to the Board’s offices from May 6 to May 13 to complete their registration procedure.
“The Board assures all candidates desirous of DE registration that none would be denied the opportunity provided they comply with the Board’s directives and within the stipulated time frame. TThe Board also solicits the understanding of candidates as it puts in place some innovative measures aimed at checking falsification of results, data and other infractions.”
