Group hails Tinubu on appointments of ministers, aides

A group, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATS-V), Southeast chapter, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the nomination of ministers who are undergoing screening at the National Assembly, saying that the process reflects federal character.

In a statement,  Simeon Anayo Anyachie, the group’s  Special Adviser (SA) on Media, Southeast, to Global Chairman,  Ambassador Dare Owotombi, said Tinubu did not make a mistake in ensuring that the foundation of its government was laid on a solid foundation in selecting pioneers such  as Dr. Gorge Akume, the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), and Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives as his Chief of Staff.

Akume was eminently qualified for the position being a former governor of Benue State, going by his achievements, and his popularity among his people, which culminated in his winning a seat in the Senate. “It is very obvious to see that people of Benue State, who missed his leadership style as a governor and have been longing to get his kind from a long time, decided to vote for his team again which ushered in Governor Hyacinth Alia.

On Gbajabiamila, BATS-V said he left in his Surulere Federal Constituency in Lagos State, which he represented in the House, endurable infrastructure. It added: “He is the best so far among his contemporaries in Nigeria. The reward for this stewardship for his people paid off for his re-election up to sixth consecutive terms to the National Assembly and apt tag of the ‘competent legislator of Nigeria’.

The group said the appointments of both men by the Tinubu administration were applauded by many Nigerians.

It added: “As a matter of fact, we can say so far, so good. We, therefore, urge the people of southeast and other parts of Nigeria to throw their weight behind this administration.

“We want to use this medium to remind the president, as a technocrat known to have worked at one of the most reputable international organisations, not to forget the code of hire and fire in cases of incompetence as this was one of the major setbacks of the last administration.”
