I’ll make NIPOST commerce, logistics hub globally in four years – Odeyemi
The newly-appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, says she will make the agency a commerce and logistics hub globally by meeting the needs of Nigerians nationwide.
Odeyemi disclosed this on Monday in a statement after assuming office at the NIPOST headquarters in Abuja.
She pledged to consolidate the achievements of her predecessors.
“The essence of every administration lies in the ability to ensure continuity while staying focused on its core values and mandate, striving to maximise its potentials, and adopting to change and involving commitment.
“NIPOST has a legacy that was forged by hard work, a vision of those before me, and posterity will indeed be kind to them’’.
“As I assume this role, I came to build on the commendable work of my predecessors; my aspirations are not only to solidify NIPOST’s status as one of the leading Postal Operators in the world but to critically commence to build trade and make NIPOST the- commerce and logistics hub in the world by providing postal services that meet the needs of Nigerians, irrespective of the location.”
Earlier, DAILY POST had reported that some aggrieved workers protested the decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Odeyemi. However, calm has since returned to the agency.
Recall Tinubu appointed Odeyemi as the CEO of NIPOST last week.
