Former President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday visited Jigawa State to sympathize with victims of the tanker explosion that claimed the lives of over 185 persons and left 65 injured in Majia town, Taura LGA.
During the visit, the former President visited Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital in Dutse, to meet with the surviving patients receiving treatment.
Buhari donated the sum of N10 million to support the victims and their families.
The ex-President expressed sadness over the incident and prayed for the repose of the deceased.
He commiserated with the Jigawa State Government, Federal Government and Muslim Ummah.
Responding, Acting Governor Aminu Usman Gumel, who received the former President on behalf of the governor, thanked Buhari for the visit and the donation.
He assured that the funds would be used judiciously.
