Nigeria’s electricity supply recorded marginal increase in Q2 – NBS

Nigeria’s electricity supply increased in the second quarter of 2023 to 5,909.83 GWh from 5,851.87 GWh recorded in Q1 2023.

This was according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics’ Q2 2023 report titled “Energy Billed, Revenue Generated, and Customers by DISCOS.”

A yearly analysis showed that Nigeria’s electricity supply increased by 13.06 per cent compared to 5,22.97 GWh reported in Q2 2022.

Accordingly, the report indicated that power supply went up marginally in the period under review to 5,851.87 GWh.

NEWS FLASH reported that Nigeria’s nine electricity distribution companies generated N263.08 billion in Q2 2023 from a combined 11.47 million customers.
