Men of the Anambra Police Command have arrested a gunman during an operation in a popular hotel in Awka, the state capital.
A terse statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Sunday, said surveillance operatives recovered a gun from the suspect.
It reads in full : “Surveillance Operatives of Anambra State Police Command have arrested a lone gunman at a popular hotel (name withheld) in Awka.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has ordered State CID Awka to take over the case and investigate source of the weapon as well as the gunman’s intention for going armed to the hotel.
The suspect is to be arraigned in court at conclusion of investigation.”
