Remove Kyari, reform NNPC, Primate Ayodele urges Tinubu

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele on Monday called on President Bola Tinubu to sack the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mele Kyari.

Primate Ayodele warned that of Tinubu fails to sack Kyari and reform the NNPC, the price of fuel would increase to N1200/litre.

The popular prophet was reacting to NNPCL’s admission that the company owes “significant debt to petrol suppliers”, saying the development poses a threat to the sustainability of fuel supply in the country.

It has been reported that a $6 billion debt the NNPCL owes petrol suppliers has worsened petrol scarcity in Nigeria.

NNPCL spokesman Olufemi Soneye on Sunday said the “financial strain has placed considerable pressure on the company and poses a threat to the sustainability of fuel supply”.

Reacting, via a video on X, Primate Ayodele said: “NNPC, if Tinubu has nothing to do with Mele Kyari, he should remove him. NNPC is rotten, there is a need for a reform of the organization. Petrol will increase to N1200 and this will be killing.”
