Tinubu, Shettima, Sambo, others mourn wife of ex-NAHCON boss

Dignitaries from all walks of life have continued to visit the Kaduna home of former Chairman of National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed (MON) to condole him on the death of his wife, Hajiya Binta Sambo Abdullahi.

Hajiya Binta died on Monday July 22 in Kaduna after a brief illness at the age of 56 and was immediately laid to rest in accordance to Islamic rights.

President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, were among the dignitaries that condoled with the former Chairman/CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a condolence message delivered by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, prayed for the deceased and commiserated with Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar and his family over the passage of Hajiya Binta.

Also, Vice President Kashim Shettima who was represented by Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties (Vice President’s Office), Dr Modibbo Aliyu Umar prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Jannah.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Arabi; former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmad Makarfi; former Kaduna State Military Administrator, Brig Gen Jafaru Isa(Rtd), wife of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo, were among the early callers to the deceased’s residence.

Former Vice President Sambo offered his condolences on Wednesday when he visited the Kaduna residence of the bereaved.

Other dignitaries that visited the former NAHCON boss were the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Liman,Reps Member Abubakar Nalaraba, Senators Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Shehu Sani and Abubakar Umar Gada; Executive Secretary of Kaduna Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Salihu S. Abubakar, and former Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Halliru Maraya.

The Commandant, Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps (NAAC) Bauchi, Major General Muhammed Ahmad;  the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zone, Dr Ben Ubi.

Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 14, AIG Ahmad Abdurrahman; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, also visited and sympathized with the ex-NAHCON boss.

The National Chairman of the Izalatul Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Bala Lau, led the Secretary-General of the organization ,Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, and other top JIBWIS Sheikhs were also at the residence on condolence.

Other people that visited were former Chief Physician to President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Suhail Rafindadi;, former INEC Resident Commissioner in Zamfara State, Dr Asma’u Sani Maikudi; Managing Director of First Planet, Malam Umar Kaila, among others.

There were representations froim Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, NAHCON management, managements of Kaduna, Adamawa, Plateau, Kebbi state pilgrims agencies, district heads and traditional title holders from Zazzau emirate, Islamic scholars, among others.

They all prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the soul of Hajiya Binta Jannatul Firdous and give her husband and family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Hajiya Binta Sambo Abdullahi who was described as a philanthropist, was deeply mourned, even as neighbours said,her humanitarian activities impacted positively on the community.
